The National Irish Basking Shark Seminar is a weekend workshop dedicated solely to the conservation and study of basking sharks in Ireland. This seminar is open to both professional scientists and interested members of the public.

Aims
- Raise awareness of the Basking Shark in Ireland
- Disseminate current knowledge of Basking sharks in Ireland
- Share information on study and survey techniques for Basking sharks
- Promote collaboration in basking shark research in Ireland
- Create cross organisation links to further Basking shark research
- Establish an Irish Basking Shark Study Group
