National Seminar

The National Irish Basking Shark Seminar is a weekend workshop dedicated solely to the conservation and study of basking sharks in Ireland. This seminar is open to both professional scientists and interested members of the public.

Aims
  • Raise awareness of the Basking Shark in Ireland
  • Disseminate current knowledge of Basking sharks in Ireland
  • Share information on study and survey techniques for Basking sharks
  • Promote collaboration in basking shark research in Ireland
  • Create cross organisation links to further Basking shark research
  • Establish an Irish Basking Shark Study Group
