Dr. Simon Berrow, co-founder and researcher with the IBSG, provides valuable insight into the basking shark research process. To make these projects possible, the Irish Basking Shark Group works with numerous collaborators. For example, the slime sampling genetics work described here took place with the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology, University of Aberdeen, Manx Basking Shark Watch, and the Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom/University of Southampton.
